Vine Maple Place

We donate one bar of River Ridge Soaps for every 10 bars sold to Vine Maple Place.  This amazing charity provides fully furnished homes,  financial and career training, as well as childcare to homeless single parents.  It moves families from the streets to independence through individualized plans of education while providing them a safe home and childcare.  River Ridge Soaps are part of the welcome home baskets that welcome a single mom or dad and their children off the streets and into their new home!

Vine Maple Place Program

Vine Maple Place is a Christian organization that addresses the complex issues of family homelessness. Our mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by helping single parents and their children build lives of hope, stability, and greater self-sufficiency. Our vision is to end family homelessness in Maple Valley and surrounding area.

We focus on bringing housing stability to single parents by helping them remove barriers in their lives that lead to homelessness. We aim to break the generational cycle of homelessness by helping their children avoid developing those same barriers as they mature.

Vine Maple Place utilizes a unique and innovative approach to meet the needs of our families. Recognizing that there is a path that leads to homelessness, we strive to meet families wherever they are on that path.

Vine Maple Place provides tailored housing solutions and support services for single-parent families:

1. Housing Case Management and Counseling Services - Case managers focus on housing assistance, through rapid re-housing or stopping a pending eviction, and landlord relations to find affordable housing. Counseling and life skills development classes focus on helping clients heal from trauma and reducing barriers to stable housing to achieve and maintain stability.

2. Financial Literacy Training - Debt reduction, spending plans, and credit management is part of the educational curriculum. Volunteer financial coaches teach classes that develop knowledge of basic financial management skills that help families to stabilize their finances for the long-term.

3. Employment and Livable Wage Development - Adults are provided training and support services focused on growing toward full-time livable-wage employment, in order to stabilize their financial situation and foster long-term stable housing and economic self-sufficiency.

4. Child and Youth Services - The needs of at-risk children are identified through in-depth assessments, and a development plan is created to help each child reach age-appropriate emotional, academic, and developmental goals. They participate in activities that promote self-esteem and emotional stability, utilizing tutoring, counseling, mentoring, therapeutic intervention, and life skills coaching, in order to be successful at home and school. They also develop the skills necessary to break the cycle of generational homelessness.
